Worship

We believe that Christian worship is an activity in which we:

When we worship, we enter into a conversation, of sorts, with God. He calls, and we answer; He instructs, and we receive; He bows down, and we look up.

We would love for you to join us, that you might experience His presence and receive His blessing with us.

We meet for worship twice each Sunday: first at 9:30 a.m., then again at 6:30 p.m.

Together, these times of worship allow us to set aside the whole Lord's Day by both beginning and ending the day in the presence of our God and Savior.

Our elders also call special times of worship throughout the year to remember Christ's birth, death and ascension; to offer thanksgiving for His blessings; and to seek Him in prayer.

Fellowship

As a Church, we are more than a group of individuals who happen to worship in the same place. We are a family, united by our faith in Christ. Therefore, we rejoice in opportunities to visit with one another, strengthening that family bond.

One way in which we enjoy fellowship is through monthly dinners. Held on the first Sunday of each month, these dinners begin after morning worship and Catechism classes have ended (usually around 11:30 a.m.). Each family brings some food and dessert, and we spend our time simply catching up on each other's lives.

Other opportunities for fellowship include our annual Sunday School picnic in Jacobson Park, a Reformation Day celebration that typically is held at Hills Christian School on Oct. 31, and a Christmas party sponsored by the Young People's Society for the whole Church.

Visitors are welcome at all events. We encourage you to join us!

Sunday School and Catechism

In line with Prov. 22:6, we believe that our children need to learn who God is and what He has done for us.

To that end, we offer Sunday School classes for our children beginning at about age 4 through Second Grade. In these classes, held Sunday mornings from September through April, they learn Bible lessons and simple songs that emphasize the truths of our faith.

Children in Third Grade through High School are enrolled in Catechism classes, held at the same time as Sunday School. These classes are based upon our confessional standards - the Heidelberg Catechism, the Belgic Confession and the Canons of Dort - along with compatible curriculum. Our goal is to teach them the truths that Scripture reveals about God, man, creation, salvation, and life as a Christian. As they grow older and mature in the faith, our young people are challenged to think about how these truths call them to live in a way that demonstrates their faith.

Young People's Society

Our High School-aged children are part of a Young People's Society which meets bi-weekly throughout the school year for Bible studies and times of fellowship. We see this as a way of encouraging one another, as well as a time in which these youths can wrestle with what it means to be a Christian in a world often dominated by non-Christians.

Each summer, our Young People have the opportunity to attend a one-week convention that unites recreation with intensive instruction in the Christian faith and Christian living. To help pay for that time, we engage in several fund-raisers - the biggest being our annual sweet corn sale.

Young Adults Fellowship

Young Adults Fellowship is a group of adults who are beyond High School age but still, ahem, "young." (You define it; we're afraid to. It might make our pastor start to feel old.)

We meet every other Friday night at the pastor's house for a time of Bible study, followed by snacks, games and conversation. It beats hanging out alone or in less savory places by a mile! Come join us!

Ladies Bible Study

The Ladies Bible Study group meets on the second Wednesday of each month during the school year. Currently, the group is meeting in the Activities Room of the Tuff Memorial Nursing Home in Hills.

The group includes ladies of all ages - mid-20s and up! Come join us for a time of Bible study, good conversation, and tasty snacks.

Christian Fellowship

Christian Fellowship meets on the second Tuesday of each month in the Church basement. This group offers opportunities both to enjoy and to lead Bible studies, and - as with most of our activities - features some excellent snacks.

Join us as we investigate what the Lord has to teach His people!

Christian Counseling

Having trouble sorting out your life?

Thinking about getting married?

Having trouble with your marriage?

Do you feel trapped by your work, your friends, your habits?

Our elders and pastor want to help. We don't have a "magic bullet" that can solve your problems overnight - but we do have the Word which can show you how God will solve your problems! And we're willing to walk alongside you as you seek His help.

Call us to set up a meeting.
